Challenge Coins for Canadian Cadet Corps

Challenge coins have been a tradition in the Canadian Armed Forces for decades - and that tradition carries through to the cadet program. Today, Commanding Officers, squadron leaders, and corps staff across Canada use custom coins to recognise achievement, mark milestones, and build unit pride.

Whether you are ordering a CO presentation coin, a corps anniversary coin, or a squadron identity coin for your cadets, Strike Your Coin will design and produce it for you - at no charge for artwork, with no hidden fees, and with as many revisions as it takes to get it right.

We Make Coins for All Three Cadet Branches

    Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC)

Army cadet corps order coins for Commanding Officer presentations, corps anniversaries, excellence awards, and unit identity. We have produced coins featuring the RCAC maple leaf badge, regimental crests, and custom designs for individual corps across Ontario and beyond.

    Royal Canadian Air Cadets (RCACS)

Air cadet squadrons use coins to mark CO presentations, squadron milestones, and leadership recognition. We have made coins for squadrons like 75 RCACS Barrhaven featuring full squadron insignia, soft enamel in air cadet blue and white, and polished gold finishes.

Sea cadet corps order coins with naval crests, anchor imagery, rope-edge borders, and bilingual inscriptions. We have produced coins for corps including RCSCC Woodstock, RCSCC Victory, RCSCC Falkland, and HMCS Prevost - in antique silver, polished gold, and two-tone finishes.

What Cadet Coins Are Used For

    Commanding Officer Presentation Coins

The most common order. COs present coins to cadets, staff, and guests as recognition of outstanding service, exceptional performance, or a meaningful contribution to the corps. We design CO coins to carry the corps identity and feel like something worth earning.

    Corps Anniversary Coins

Milestones like 25th, 50th, or 75th anniversaries deserve something lasting. We specialise in anniversary coins that incorporate founding year, current year, and the corps' full history in the design.

    Achievement and Excellence Awards

Presented for top performance, leadership courses, competition results, or completion of a significant training milestone.

    Squadron and Corps Identity Coins

Some corps order coins simply to represent their unit - a coin that any member, cadet or officer, can carry with pride.

    Commanding Officer Changeover

A coin that marks the transition between outgoing and incoming COs - often presented at the ceremony as a keepsake for both.

Coin Styles Popular with Cadet Corps

    Soft Enamel with Polished Gold

The most popular choice for RCAC and RCACS coins. Vibrant colour sits in recessed areas beneath raised gold metal borders, creating the layered look that defines a classic challenge coin.

    Hard Enamel with Antique Brass

Preferred for a more heritage-oriented look - common for long-standing corps and anniversary pieces. The antique finish gives it gravitas.

    Two-Tone (Black Nickel + Gold)

A sharp modern look popular with sea cadet corps and CO coins. Black nickel background with polished gold raised elements creates high contrast and a premium feel.

    3D Raised Relief

For corps with complex crests or badges - like regimental star badges or detailed heraldic imagery - 3D relief adds real depth and dimension. The coin becomes a miniature sculpture.

    Diamond-Cut Edge

Adds a fine-jewellery touch to the coin edge. Common for honorary coins and senior presentation pieces.
